Hello Dawgfans,
No sugar coating it…last Saturday was not great! We should have beat that team and taken our title as the one rightful UW. That will have to wait another year or two, now it’s on to Pur-don’t. We have dropped a bit in terms of stats over the past month and Jonah and Demond have cooled scoring and efficiency. Jonah is still 3rd in terms of rushing touchdowns and Demond is 5th in completion percentage. Defensively we are 8th in the Big 10 giving up just under 320 total yards a game.
Purdue University was founded in 1969 and is located in West Lafayette, Indiana. Located about an hour northwest of Indianapolis in what seems like the middle of nowhere and yet is the most densely populated city in Indiana due the college. The total student body is around 52,000 and the university is named after John Purdue who helped fund and found the university and died on the first day of classes during his junior year and is buried on campus. One other fun fact, their weather sucks so much they have an extensive system of tunnels to allow students to avoid the cold during the winter.
They are known as the Boilermakers. Originally a negative term for students in the late 1800s it was adopted after back to back defeats of Wabash College. Their official mascot is a locomotive the Boilermaker “not so” Special.

Purdue has been to 4 total Rose Bowls 66, 67, and 68 and then didn’t return until 2001 where they…lost to UW 34-24 sorry Drew Brees. The Boilermakers are 2-8 and have lost their last 8 games. They rank 2nd to last in the Big 10 in defense giving up over 400 a game and a bit better on offense gaining around 350 yards a game. This is a winnable game for the Dawgs and we need to get back on the Fisch ladder.

Notable Purdue alums include, prominent astronaut and moon antagonist Neil Armstrong. Airline pilot who’s down on geese, Sully Sullenberger. Former Mariners President, Chuck Armstrong, Purdue having the best Alumni in Baseball. Finally, Ted Allen of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy and Chopped Fame, sorry Pur-don’t….
